Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose an agency?
You’ve already started! By researching Home Care Agencies, you’ll get a feel for what’s right for you and/or family. Here are some guidelines and questions to ask: How long has the agency been in business, are they licensed, and are they available 24/7 for your needs with a skilled nurse to support your questions/concerns. Are their caregivers screened carefully, bonded with background checks, insured, and do they check all references and does the office staff make changes quickly upon your request.
How do services get started?
The services should begin with a complimentary skilled assessment with the patient and family. This allows the agency to meet the person that will be cared for and match up personalities and get helpful direction from family members.
How can I feel comfortable with the services, when I’m miles away?
By the agency offering to call with any updates, changes and concerns. A high quality agency makes weekly visits to clients to insure that all is going well.
How does the agency maintain the quality of services?
By case managing and coordinating the care. Making home visits, talking with the doctor after an appointment, continually inservicing staff to improve the delivery of care. Simply, having a commitment to the comfort of the person that’s being cared for.
What about health changes, how fast can the agency adapt?
Immediately. With staff available 24/7, any changes can be dealt with very quickly.
Is the agency available whenever I need them?
Yes. The agency is set-up to meet all your needs whenever you need us.
How does the agency hire the caregivers, what are the standards?
References are checked very carefully. Background checks are conducted before hiring. There is a very insightful test that must be passed. All requirements must be current (CPR, TB skin test, Car insurance, state licenses, first aide and DMV printout). We also do weekly visits with the caregiver at the patients home.
Is the agency covered by all insurances, is my family protected?
As a State Licensed agency, the following insurances are a requirement: Professional Liability, Fidelity Bond, General Liability Worker’s Compensation, Officers Liability and non-owned Auto Insurances.
What happens if we don’t like the caregiver you send?
We change caregivers as quickly as possible and ask if there’s something we can do better next time!
Does the Agency have a minimum number of hours for services?
No! We want to be there with you when you need us.
Will my insurance pay for these services?
Yes some insurances will pay for our services and as an extra service to you we’ll try every way to assist with reimbursement.
